ST. PHILIP'S CATHOLIC BOOK CLUB

We meet on the second Wednesday of the month, September through June, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Rectory.  You do not have to attend all the meetings.  You may pick out the books you are interested in and come on the night that we will discuss that book.  We would like that anyone who comes to the meeting will have read the book to be discussed.  However, if you don't have time to read the book selected for a specific month, just come to listen or share.  All books can be found on Amazon.com or in any bookstore.  All welcome!  For information, call Mary McHale, 301-735-3451 (or by e-mail: muddmm@aol.com).

CHECK OUT THE PARISH LIBRARY for fireside reading. Our mini-library is in the hall between church and school. We also accept donation of appropriate books. Just put them on the bottom shelf.

THE LIGUORI SOCIETY:  An association of faithful young men of high school and college age for the purpose of prayer, work for and discernment of priestly vocations.  Everyone is either called to a priestly vocation or knows someone who is.  Young men are ideally situated for this apostolate and the Ligouri Society, named for the patron of priestly vocations, positions them to pursue this important work for Christ in a better way.  Prospective members must be at least of high school age, currently attending Sunday Mass and otherwise seeking to live the precepts of the Church, and willing to pray for and encourage vocations to the priesthood while discerning their own call whatever it might be.  Interested individuals must make their request to enter through current members who can be  identified by their attire of suit and tie at Sunday Masses and cassock and surplice while serving Mass.
