CCD EDUCATION

CCD meets weekly after the 9 am Mass, except after a holiday and during the summer, or as otherwise listed in the church bulletin.  Classes for Pre-K through 8.  For mire information, please call Marlen Coles at 301-404-9020. 


TEENS IN HIS IMAGE (TIHI)

TIHI offers continuing faith development for all high school students. Teens have the opportunity to share as they learn more about Christ-like action.  Meets twice a month on Sunday evening.  Special activities at specified times.  For more information, please call the Rectory at 301-423-4244.

SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (SPRED)

SPRED is a Catholic-community experience for persons, ages 6 and older, with developmental disability, including learning disability and mental retardation.  Meets twice a month on Saturday from 9:15 until 11:30 am.  A SPRED Mass is offered once a month as part of the program.  SPRED has been operating for over 30 years at Saint Philip the Apostle and will begin again on Saturday, September 10, 2011. The sessions are bi-monthly and includes celebrating Mass with active participation by the members. RITE OFCHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA)

RCIA is learning for those interested in Catholic formation and basic Catholic information, as well as Catholics wishing to receive an update of their faith.  These group sessions meet on Sundays between the two morning Masses - from 10:15 am to 11:15 am in the library of Saint Philip the Apostle School.  Designed to give understanding about the Catholic Church or preparation to receive Baptism or Confirmation.  The meetings are open to any interested adult.  Catholics and non-Catholics are welcome.  For more information, please call the Rectory at 301-423-4244.

LECTIONARY PREVIEW GROUP

Prepares for the Sunday Eucharist by reading and discussing the assigned Scripture selection for the coming Sunday.  The group meets Wednesday morning at 9:30, after Mass, in the Rectory, from September through May.

LECTIONARY PREVIEW will resume in September on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am with Father Scott.  Please plan to join this group after Labor Day.
